patience
The ability to practice patience allows our mind to remain with a happy constructive attitude in the face of the difficulties we meet. We are able to remain positive and peaceful at all times. On this basis of patience we can take on the suffering of others and be of real benefit.
February 18 - taking and giving: taking
February 25 - no class
March 3 - taking and giving: giving
compassion & wisdom
we should know that all our problems arise because we do not realise ultimate truth. ultimate truth, emptiness, is not easy to understand, but it is extremely important that we make the effort.
through understanding and meditating on emptiness our mind will be released from all wrong conceptions and mistaken appearances so that we will loose all our fears and suffering and become a completely pure, enlightened person.
March 10 - the supreme good heart
March 17 - what is true?
March 24 - the dreamlike nature of reality
March 31 - a simple meditation on ultimate truth
Each class consists of two guided meditations, brief buddhist prayers for meditation, a talk explaining about meditation and the objects of meditation and time for questions and discussion. Even though it is beneficial to attend the classes as a series, they are self-contained and can be attended any time. Please feel free to drop in any time.
